AMSLER TEST

The Amsler test is a test that allows you to check for distortions and alterations in central vision, which are an important symptom of macular degeneration.

To perform the Amsler test, you must first put on your glasses , if you have them. You must then perform the test one eye at a time , covering the other eye with your hand.

The Amsler test grid should be held approximately 35cm from the face .

So, with only one eye, you need to focus on the central dot . While focusing on the central dot, you need to pay attention to the surrounding grid, which must be completely visible, straight, and of regular size.

If you see distorted, bent, blurry, or dark lines in any area of the reticle, you should see your eye doctor as soon as possible.
